Are you at the top of God’s list? You know, one crisis after another seems to follow you. Your child is ill (again); your marriage is a mess; you are divorced; your typical kids are a mess, or you fill in the blank. Nothing seems to go right and your life is so far from you best laid plans that you wonder if God really does love you.
You are at the top of God’s list, you know?
I am still at the top of God’s list.
Oh I know that He loves me, but I just wish He didn’t think I needed so much pain in my life! Just when it seems as if things are going well, yet another crisis hits our family. And it is never a small one either. It is always the big one that creates chaos and heartbreak.
Fortunately, God is bigger than our family problems. Plus, He ordains them to bring us closer to Him and to incline our ears to hear His voice.
God’s plans are bigger than our problems.
Really. We see with our human eyes and ears what is going on around us. We see the pain and suffering. We see the insurmountable problems that need to be solved.
But, God? He sees all of our pain and suffering, but He knows all the choices that we and others have made. He remembers the plans He has for our lives and the plans He has for the world. Our ways are not always His ways.
So, His solutions for our family problems remain quite a bit larger in scope than our solutions.
So, if we are at the top of God’s list,
He wants us close to Him. We are close to His heart, because all we can do is cry out to Him to help us and come to our aide. We do live in the world, whose view is different than God’s many times.
The world views lust, greed, power and superficial love as the top of the list. God’s children may struggle with those things, but they know that these values are not God’s plan for anyone’s life. They only breed destruction and death in one’s life.
Thank God for putting you at the top of His list.
This means He cares for you, and He knows your heart is His. He knows that you are His child and that you and your family will reflect His love. We all struggle with problems in life, some of us more than others, but we can overcome them when we incline our hearts, minds and ears to Him.
Being recipients of His love during the darkest times also means being on the front row of miracles. Believing that God can make a miracle out of any circumstance is the foundation of a child-like faith. It is also the doorway to a deeper faith.
