Sometimes God tells us to fear not. When you look at the passages in scripture that contain fear not, you find that He speaks this phrase to the people of God before he asks them to do something. He (or an angel he sends) says this to Abraham, Sarah, Mary, Jacob, the Israelites and many others.
He is also saying this to you.
When God gave you the monumental task of parenting a special needs child, He told you to fear not. Do you remember when he spoke this word to you?
It may have been during a medical crisis, or when you knew those around you had to listen even when they did not want to. You may have simply felt this urge to override your fear to speak to the school about your child’s educational rights. Or, simply against the scrutiny of those who ridicule a special needs child in the general public.
Whether it was through the Word of God, a word from someone else, or just a moving of the Spirit. You knew. God called you.
Is He telling you to fear not now?
Sometimes we have jobs to do for our children.
Special needs is not a one size fits all. A child’s disability may be different from another child with the same genetic syndrome. Or, your child may have a special need, but no one knows what it is called. It does not matter, because your job is the same.
Do you have a new medical mission, school issue or a family member to face for the benefit of your child and your family?
Fear not. He will make a way and move mountains.
