Welcome to His Special Kids & Family!
If you have been here before, you will notice quite a few changes. This blog started out as a catharsis for my soul from an abusive marriage. I have wrestled with my faith, protecting my babies, homelessness, and my ex-husband’s adulteries and abuse of us. I can say that we have come out on the other side. You can read more about how the Lord delivered us in my book (and how He can help you too!).
If you are new here, expect change, as that is the work of the Holy Spirit in my life.
Through the journey, I witness many miracles and healings. The LORD drew me near to His side and spoke to me through it all. He touched my soul and continues to speak with me every day. The salvation and grace of God is not based on your lifetime achievements or on how morally you have lived out religion in your life. Let this be a place of mercy to all those who call on His name.
Only people with messy lives will find solace here.
I write to encourage you.
I write to encourage you as you journey through special needs parenting. Our journey as parents is a family affair. If your life wasn’t centered around the welfare of your children before, it probably is now. As parents, we must find our strength in God, so that we can be an anchor for our children.
In the midst of being present with our kids, the rest of our lives may come a bit unraveled. God uses special needs children to prune our families so that he can use us. He has a purpose for you and your family.
While I certainly don’t hold all the answers, I do know how to speak and pray God’s truth over every single situation. I will help you do the same to the best of my ability. I will prophesy as the LORD speaks, which is intended to encourage you to seek Him and His will. The Spirit may reveal hurt within you, but if you lay it down, He will heal and strengthen you.
Who am I?
I am a Christian, unashamedly a servant of God through the salvation of Jesus Christ. I am a stay-at-home, work-at-home mom of two boys. The LORD blessed me with highly intelligent typical son, and an adorable special needs son. I also have three dogs and a goat on several acres of land in the country. We love to rock on the porch, watching the birds and butterflies.
I read nonfiction books about writing, business, herbs, essential oils and animal husbandry. I also sometimes become a little too obsessed with Amish Christian lit. Chocolate and strong coffee with coconut milk just seem to go really well with that! How anyone can pass that combination up is beyond me! 😉
I sew on my Grandmother’s old Singer 1939 sewing machine. Yep! It works great. Someday, I will revive my desire to knit a pair of socks or finish crocheting that scarf in the closet too. I am a Pinterest nut (I have two accounts, shh! don’t tell!) and find it a source of great inspiration spiritually and in running my home.
